She was born on April 2, 1942 in Grand Lake Stream, Maine to William and Annie “MacArthur” Fitch. Ginnie went to school in Grand Lake Stream until the family moved to Massachusetts in her early teens where she attended high school and met a handsome young man named Vinnie. They fell in love, married on December 27, 1958 and went on to raise three children. The family moved back to Grand Lake Stream in the late 60’s where they ran Canal Site Camps for many years while both worked in the paper mill. Ginnie became an EMT and volunteered on the ambulance for years and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. In their retirement years, they became snowbirds, going to Florida each winter. She loved to golf, go on trips with the travel club, and playing games with her friends at Highpoint.
Ginnie was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 60 years, Vinnie, a sister and brother-in-law, John and Gloria Argraves, and a niece, Darlene Deacon.
She is survived by her children, Michael of Brooksville, Florida, Bill and his wife, Jeanne of Wilton, Maine, and Deborah and her husband, Nigel of Brooksville, Florida; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Joshua Graceffa and husband Rudy of Windham, Maine and Heidi Marden and wife, Ashley of Wilton, Maine; and one great-granddaughter, Annie James Marden; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be a graveside service at a later date at the Grand Lake Stream cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.merrittspringhill.com for the Graceffa family.
