Shirley L Harris

Shirley L. Harris, age 87, of Spring Hill, FL, died at Spring Oaks ALF, in Brooksville, FL. Shirley was a longtime resident of Spring Hill coming from Columbia, TN in 1971. Born on October 13, 1929, in Belmont, Mississippi, to the late Marcus L. & Delia (Brakefield) Young. Shirley was a lifelong Christian and worked in Christian Ministry alongside her husband Reverend Carl W. Harris. Shirley was a Master Seamstress, sewing all types of clothing for children, family members, wedding and bride’s maid dresses. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 57 years, Reverend Carl W. Harris, in 2006, and her son, Donnie Carl Harris. Shirley is lovingly survived by her daughter, Debra Weissman and her husband Larry, of Spring Hill, FL, son, Phillip D Harris and his wife Diane, of Columbia, TN. As well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shirley’s family and friends will gather at the Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. The visitation will be held Friday, September 8, 2017, from 10am-12pm. The funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 12 Noon on Friday, with Reverend Bruce Chivers officiating. Committal Service and burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell, Florida..
