Paul P. Stark

He was born in Malden, Mass. In 1936. Parents were the late Paul and Mattie Stark formerly of Berwick, Maine. He left behind his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Stark. He is also survived by one son Stephen Stark of North Berwick, Maine, 5 step children, Sandra Dominguez of Williamsburg, VA., Lois Shelley of Landisburg, PA., David Bradley of So. Berwick, Maine, Jane Canfield of No Berwick, Maine and Daniel Bradley of Port Allegany, PA. He has two grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Chapman of 2092 Culbreath Road, Lot C63, Brooksville, Florida.

He retires as Supervisor of Electrical Inspectors at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was educated in the Berwick, Maine schools where He graduated from high school, He also attended the University of New Hampshire and attended the Dale Carnegie Institute. He was a Scoutmaster of Troop 313 in Berwick for 20 years. He received Scouters Highest adult award, The Silver Beaver, and was awarded Scouters Commissioner of the Year twice. He was Roundtable commissioner, and Training Chairman and ADC for Pine Tree Council in York district in Maine. He was chosen Citizen of the Year in Berwick Maine and Chairman of the Bicentennial parade there in 1976. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Berwick where he served as Chairman of finance, was trustee, a Sunday school teacher, and served on Pasto Parish Relations committee. He was an officer in Demolay, a member of the Masons, coach of Little League softball, in Berwick. Over a 30 gallon blood donor, and was a monthly apheresis (platelet) donor of at Life South Blood Bank. Later a Plasma A in charge donor until 2019. He was an Elk member in Rochester, NH, and later transferred to Elk Lodge #2582 in Brooksville, FL. He joined the First United Methodist Church in Brooksville where he taught Adult Bible Study, sang in the choir, was chosen Church Volunteer of the month was Chairman of the Helping Hand of the United Methodist Men’s club. In 2008, he became a member of the Wesleyan Church, 22319 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, Florida. He was the Boy Scouts Charter Representative of FUMC and was a member of the Forever Young Club. He was a member of the Gideon’s, and was a Director on the Board of the Condo Association in his Park in Brooksville.

He was in charge, of the Chaplin’s, at Brooksville Regional Hospital for 15 years, and was a member of the Audubon Society, The Good Sam RV Club, the Escapees RV Club and the United Methodist Campers, with membership in the “Sunshine” Chapter of Florida.

He served in NUMC as President of the Maine Chapter and in 2000 was the National President and was Director on the NUMC board.
