Born April 15, 1936 to Howard Elsworth VanBuskirk and Donna Irene Phillips. He was the 5th of nine children and the oldest son. He grew up in Kenton, Ohio and as a teenager he moved to Belleville Michigan to stay with his sisters Louise and Frankie. In 1956 he was introduced to his future wife, brought together by his sister Louise. On December 27, 1956 he married Zelma Mae Lemaster. They were married for 52 years and had four children: Karen, Lutricia (Lucy), Glen and Kimberly Sue. He spent many years in Michigan working 17 years at Ford motor company as a paint inspector and four in the Air Force. In the early 70's he moved his family to Grant, Ohio and started a construction company with two of his brothers. They lived and worked there for about four years before moving south to Kentucky. He lived there for 5 years then moved to Florida in 1979 where he lived for 36 years and worked as a security guard. He passed away on December 30, 2016 with his son Glen and daughter Karen each holding a hand, surrounded by his children, daughter-in-law Sandy, son-in-law Tim, his grandchildren Awad, Mustafa, Omer, Zainab, and several great-grandchildren. Howard had eight brothers and sisters Audrey (deceased), Louise (deceased), Frankie (deceased), Jane (deceased), Lowell, Harold, Willis, and Brien. Four children Karen McNurlin,Lutricia (Lucy) Roberts, Howard Glen Van Buskirk, and Kimberly Elfaituri. ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
