Donald Arthur Knodle, age 96, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was born in Leaf River, Illinois on May 16, 1926 and graduated from Leaf River High School and received a B.S. degree in 1951 from Greenville College in Illinois and a Master's degree from the University of Michigan, Class of 1957. Mr. Knodle enjoyed a career in education as a Principal in Michigan schools.
He loved his church, anything military, photography, woodworking, painting and birds. He is survived by his wife: Dorotha Canfield-Brown Knodle whom he married on January 1, 2005; daughters: Linda Beavers of St. Helens, Michigan; Mary Stegman of Caledonia, Wisconsin; sister: Lois Satgast of Bradenton, Florida and Richville, Minnesota; brothers: Stanton Knodle of Palatine, Illinois; Larry Knodle of Bradenton, Florida; five step-children who loved him dearly and sixteen grandchildren. A gathering will be held from 10:00-11:30am Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, where funeral services will begin at 11:30am. Inurnment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
