Albert was born on November 19, 1940 to Lenson and Cleo (Hughes) Irvine in Bass Lake Township, Wisconsin. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1958. Butch married Ethel Nelson in Spooner at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church on November 25, 1962. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in Wausau, WI and they moved to Trego in 1968 where they operated the family farm. Butch worked for the Chicago Northwest Railroad from 1970-1976. He then worked for the local operator’s union number 139 on various projects in the area including; highway 53, the ice house, and many others, retiring in 1990. Butch enjoyed; farming, working, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, fixing things in his shop, and helping others with whatever they needed.
Butch is survived by: his wife, Ethel of Trego, four children; David (JoAnne) Irvine of Spooner, Kim (Brian) Smith of Spooner, Mark (Simone Tremblay) Irvine of Hayward, and Nicole (Brent Breitenfeld) Irvine of Spooner, eleven grandchildren; Shawn, Michael, Christopher, Ashley, Catherine, Victoria, Jessica, Matthew, Jordan, Elizabeth, and Zachary, three great-grandchildren; Dominick, Derrick, and Damiean, three siblings; Frank (Kathy) Irvine of Spooner, Walter Irvine of Spooner, and Lori Deal of Townsend, Montana, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded by his parents.
A funeral service for Butch was held on Saturday, June 14, at 11 am, at Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner. Visitation was held Friday, June 13 from 4 until 8 pm at Dahl Funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial was in the Spooner Cemetery. Pallbearers were; Dale Martin, Willie Kauffmen, Rance Hubbell, Jerry Hanson, Victor Grobrecht, Jessie Kauffmen, Patrick Kissack, and Marty Ksobiech.
