On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Sandra Ann Brown passed away at the age of 80. A member of the Spokane Tribe, Sandra was born on December 2, 1942 in Desmet, Idaho. She had several siblings whom she loved very much, and is survived by two: Joenne Zepeda and James McMurtrey. She also had a large extended family that she talked about often. She eventually moved to Spokane where she met her future husband, Herbert Brown, in the early 1960s. Together, they had seven children (William, Victoria, Karen, Rickey, Tammy, Raymond, and Darrell), two of which — Rickey and Victoria Brown — preceded her in death and await her in heaven, along with her late husband Herbert. From her children, she had six grandchildren (Derek, Ashley, Cameron, Sydney, Rickey, and Cheyenne), of which Cameron preceded her in death and awaits her on the other side. She also has one great-grandchild (Corbin). A lifelong Elvis fan, Sandra loved Rock 'n' Roll music, and often listened to her favorite music, especially Elvis. She was also fond of taking trips to Las Vegas, even well into her late 70s. But more than anything, she loved her family, and it was central to everything she was in life. She leaves behind a big, loving family who will always cherish each moment they had with her.
