Roland Ron Peter Johann

(age 93)

Passed away May 9, 2017, in Spokane, WA. Ron was born to Ted and Teresa Johann in Genesee, ID, on November 29, 1923. He graduated from Lewiston High School before serving in the US Navy from 1942-1946. He married Ruth Littleton in 1947. Ron worked as a heavy equipment operator for construction companies including Kuney, NA Degerstrom, Murphy Brothers, and Materney Brothers. He was an avid golfer and especially loved the course at Wandermere. In 1992, several years after Ruth had passed away, Ron married Vivian Miller. They enjoyed traveling, including spending the winters in Arizona. Ron especially loved his grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vivian Miller-Johann; his children: Kathie (Wayne) Ramos, Larry Johann, Ted (Diana) Johann, Debbie (Jim) Kinney, Jane (Craig) Smith, Mark (Lanie) Miller, Jerry (Andrea) Miller, and Karen (John) Henderson; three sisters; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, 1 PM, at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley, Spokane, WA, with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Spokane.
