He graduated from West Valley High School and went on to receive his mechanic certification from Spokane Community College. Mark retired from Avista where he was a heavy equipment mechanic and went on to be a shop foreman.
Mark married Mae and went on to have 3 children. He had a strong faith and was very involved at Millwood Presbyterian church, the church he grew up in. He enjoyed traveling in the RV, being a snowbird in AZ, and spending summers at Camp White. Mark achieved his lifelong dream of restoring his 1951 Chevy Bel Air. He loved tinkering in his shop and working with his hands. Mark was an avid fan and supporter of the Zag and the Seattle Seahawks.
His family and friends remember his contagious smile, his honesty, patience, and caring nature. He was a natural teacher and respected/beloved role model. Mark is survived by Mae (wife), daughters Dori (Jeff), Jessica (Kris), and Rani (Ryan). Mark was a proud grandpa of 5 grandchildren, Gage, Jake, Emma, Rusty, and Carter. He is survived by his brother Scott (Jolene), sister Leslie (Rick) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled at 2:00 on Saturday, April 13, at Millwood Presbyterian Church.
The family would like to thank Spokane Hospice House, and Dr. Coletti along with his amazing team at Providence Heart Institute-Center for Advanced Heart Disease and Transplant.
