Jean C. Reinbold, 98, our wonderful Mother, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 25 at Living Spring Residential Care in Lewiston, Idaho, where she had received outstanding care for 3 years. Mom was born May 18, 1916 in Seattle and adopted by Will and Laura Cochran. Will died when Mom was 6 and Laura later married Will Simpson. The family lived in Spokane where Mom was joined by brothers Joe, Jerry, and Jack.
She graduated from John Rogers High School and attended Kinman business College where she met a handsome country boy, Earl, who would be her husband for 66 years. They raised 4 daughters on a dairy farm north of Spokane Valley.
Mom worked as a licensing clerk for Stricker-Crow Insurance for several years. On retiring she enjoyed doing bead work and ceramics. She was an accomplished pianist who enjoyed sharing her music through Eastern Star gatherings. She was a past matron of Magnolia Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Past Grand Electa, Past Queen of El Karnak Temple of Daughters of the Nile, Past Mother Advisor of Hope Assembly of Order of Rainbow for Girls, 70 year member of Central Grange, 50 year member of Millwood Presbyterian Church and later transferred to First Presbyterian Church of Clarkston.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, her 3 brothers and their wives, a daughter Janice and son-in-law Kenneth, and 2 grandsons. She is survived by daughters, Judy Hepton (Robert) of Asotin, Jeneane Wilkinson (Robert) of Spokane and Joan Hisaw (Curtis) of Cheney as well as 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Dorris Carro of Spokane.
A private graveside service will be held in Spokane and a Celebration of Mom’s life at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkston on August 30th at 11:00 a.m. Memorials can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
