Gordon Keith Wright

Born August 20, 1932, in Platte, SD and passed away peacefully Sunday, May 21, 2017. When growing up he lived in Ontario, OR, Bremerton, WA, Iowa and Caldwell, ID. As a student athlete he played many sports in high school. He also loved animals of all kinds, often surprising his family with strays he would bring home.

After high school Gordon entered the Air Force. While stationed at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, TX, he would meet his future wife, Tommie Lee. Tommie Lee and Gordon later lived in many places around the Idaho & Washington area such as Idaho Falls, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Cheney, and Spokane Valley. Gordon made a successful career in the banking industry until his retirement.

Gordon was an avid collector of stamps, coins and Indian artifacts; not only collecting but speaking and providing presentations to the community. He enjoyed nothing more than hunting Indian artifacts or discussing his collections. Gordon was also a longtime member of the Freemasons of Cheney and the Philatelic Society. He was also a huge Gonzaga basketball fan and never missed watching a game.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Tommie Lee, in 2007; parents Charles & Ellen; and older brother Donovan. He is survived by his sister Alice and brother Randy; his four children LeeAnne, Bruce, Brian and Brad; along with six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial service celebrating Gordon’s life will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Rd. Spokane Valley, WA. The Family suggests that donations can be made in his name to Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W Entiat Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336 in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
