Age - 89
Don passed away peacefully on April 24th.
He was born on March 21, 1927 in Fairmont, MN, to Lester & Ethel Schmidt.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert , wife Vera, and son Brian.
He was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps and served from 1946-1949.
Most of his adult life Don drove semi-trucks cross country. His coworkers called him "Schmidty."
He was a member of Audubon Park United Methodist Church.
Don was an integral part of Senior Bible Study on Wednesdays at River Church.
He enjoyed playing pinochle with others seniors at the Northeast Community Center.
Don is survived by his brother Gene Schmidt, sister Ruth Spore, sons Bradley Schmidt and Bruce Schmidt,
and daughter Beth Paumen, all of Minnesota, as well as several stepchildren, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 9:30 AM at the Spokane Memorial Gardens.
