On October 5th, Albert D. Nave (age 85) left this earth to go to his heavenly home. He lived in Airway Heights with his wife Patricia but passed away at Sunshine Homes in the Spokane Valley. He was blessed to have his wife and children with him to the end.
He was born on April 26, 1939 at home in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He left there to join the Army and see the world. While stationed at a Nike Base outside of Spokane, he met his wife Patricia Irish, and together the couple had three children. After moving 21 times in 20 years, they settled back on the West Plains where they could be near family and a Church where they became very active.
Al is survived by his wife off 66 years, Patricia, and three children, Mike Nave of Toledo, WA., Richard Nave of Yakima, WA., and Terri (Ernie) Cerna of Connell, WA. He also had six grandchildren, Nicole, Janine, Jeremiah, Jared, Maria, and Jessica; nine great grandchildren, and a brand new great-great granddaughter. He was known as Grandpa Al to many, many other kids and grand-kids, that he called his own, including Michelle Craft and her family, as well as many other nieces, nephews, in-laws, and siblings, though the list could go on and on. He is preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings.
A viewing will be held October 24th art Ball & Dodd Funeral Home in Spokane from 10:00 to 1:00. Burial will follow at 2:30 at Spokane-Cheney Memorial Gardens on the Cheney Spokane Highway.
A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held at Airway Heights Baptist Church on October 25, 2024 at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend and honor him at the service with a meal to follow.
The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice of Spokane and Sunshine Homes for the loving care and attention given to Al. He was well-loved with excellent care.
