Passed away peacefully July 23, 2014. Bill was born September 15, 1928 in Centralia, Washington to William and Laura Grimes. He had three siblings, of which he was the youngest. At a young age he joined the Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War as a radioman. Along with race car driving, pitching for the minor-league team in Seattle and working on the railroad, Bill kept a pretty busy schedule.
On July 31, 1955 he was married to the love of his life, Raouleen Germeaux. Their marriage was soon blessed with a son, Kelly Blake, and sixteen months later a daughter, Konni Ann. Bill's life was centered around his children and family, they meant the world to him.
After both children married in 1981, Raouleen and Bill spent many years salmon fishing and canning for all to enjoy. He is survived by his daughter, Konni Ann (Dennis) Anderson; daughter-in-law, Mary Gail Grimes; grandchildren, Amanda Marie, Justin Blake, Kerri Ann, and Allie Rose; great-grandson, Noah; very special friend, Mary Gayle Stepper, and numerous family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Laura Grimes; his brothers, Don and Jim; sister, Betty Stouffer; his wife, Raouleen, and son, Kelly. Bill was a much loved Father, Grandfather and dear friend to many. His heart and love for others will live on in his family's memory for years to come.
An open house celebration will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 1-4pm at the Potter residence, 1203 S. Blake Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
