Rufus "Ed" Edward Vines, age 78, of Spokane Valley, Washington passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Ed was born on July 16, 1945 in Mulga, AL. to parents Edward and Mable. He graduated from Minor High School in Adamsville, AL. in 1964.
In 1965 Ed enlisted in the USAF, he served 20 years finishing his military career in Spokane, WA. Ed moved back to Alabama and completed welding school. He eventually returned to Spokane, and worked at Alloy Trailers and Scafco.
Ed married Wanda and had three children together. They later divorced and he married Ruth whom brought two boys into their marriage.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. His family and friends will always remember him as a mild mannered, generous, and sensitive person.
Ed is survived by his children; Don (Dawn) Vines, Dan (Pam) Vines, and Denis (Stefani) Hill. His siblings; David Vines, Sharon Evans, and Rhonda McDonald. His grandchildren; Adam Vines, Andrew Vines, Levi (Andreanna) Vines, Connor (Miranda) Vines, Mackenzie (Jordan) Koch, Colton Vines, Bradley Vines, Josie Hill, and Seth (Aimee) Choate. Also one niece, five nephews, and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, son Jackson Vines, son Sam Hill, and sister Carolyn Vest.
Ed’s celebration of life is scheduled for 1 PM on May 31, 2024 at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home with a reception to follow.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ed Vine’s life, he was truly loved and is dearly missed.
