Age 87 years
Rex was born September 29, 1935 in Cassville, MO. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18, 2022 in Spokane, WA. Rex was a member of Dishman Baptist Church in Spokane Valley, WA for the past 14 years. Rex was a logger, truck driver, bank manager and CEO at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Spokane Valley for 25 years. After retirement, he and his wife Gerry went into full time ministry with the Missouri Baptist Convention, and they also refinished and sold antiques on the side. They were also in the Amway business for many years. Rex was a Godly man, who loved his Lord and was a loving husband, dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gerry, after 69 years of marriage. He is also survived by 2 sons, Randy Phillips, Rick Phillips, and 1 daughter Pamela Miller. Rex is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Molly Babler (husband Hudson), Lindy Landge (husband Rueben), Paul Howard Ramsey, Jeremy Taisey (wife Miao), Ryan Taisey (wife Jacy), Brittany Lowe (husband Bobby), Howie Phillips (wife Monica), and Lexie Mendez (husband Joel), and also 18 great grandchildren. Rex had 2 brothers, Ralph Phillips, who lives in Monument, CO and one brother deceased, Howard Phillips of Blackfoot, ID. Rex passed away peacefully at Lena’s Gentle Care Adult Family Home in Spokane Valley, WA
Rex’s Memorial Service will be November 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA
