Glen Clark

Glen C. Clark passed away February 7, 2011. Glen was born in NorthBattleford, Saskatchewan, Canada on July 7, 1922. Glen enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II, completing basic training at Farragut Naval training center. After basic training he was transfered to The Armed Guard and served as a gunners mate on several merchant ships that took him to Alaska, the South Pacific and Australia. His military service instilled a love of boating and open water that lasted a life time. He and his father built his first home in the Spokane Valley, where he and his wife Viola lived for for 30 years. Glen was an accomplished woodworker, he could repair or build anything, and he even built a boat that the family used for many years. He enjoyed the many camping trips taken with his family over the years. Glen worked at Standard Lumbar Co. and later at Crawford Door Co., building custom garage doors. In his later years he was active in the Spokane Model Boat Club, where he build many model boats and won numerous awards for his skills. Glen was preceded in death by his wife Viola and is survived by his daughters and their families Terry and Charlie Klement, Colleen and Bob Loomer, grandson Andrew Loomer as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Spokane Valley V.F.W. post #1435, 212 s David Rd. Spokane Valley Friday Feb. 18th at 2:00 PM. Donations in Glen's name can be made to V.FW. post #1435 or Horizon Hospice.
