Joy, Carole Jean (age 71) past peacefully into rest on July 27, 2011 after a long battle with COPD. She is survived by her five children: Tracy (Jeff) King of Pittsburgh, PA; Brenda Shane of Spokane, WA; Barbara Sparks of Spokane; Sheryl (Duane) Statler of Spokane Valley, WA; Brian Joy of Spokane; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Robert Homer Bell. Carole was born in Boise, ID on July 10, 1940 and lived in Rupert, ID until she moved to Spokane in 1949. She graduated from West Valley High School in 1958 with two scholarships in music for her violin playing. As a homemaker, she enjoyed family gatherings, Northern Quest, and her friends at East Central Community Center. The family wishes to extend a special “thank you” to her extended family at Sullivan Park Care Center; she loved you all dearly! A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Colonial Chapel at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. The family’s wish is that all guests in attendance will wear cheerful colors.
