Raymond Anthony Cruz, 64, of Sparta, passed away on December 18, 2012 at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, NJ. Raymond was born in Puerto Rico and lived in Passaic and West Milford before moving to Sparta 12 years ago. He was a retired Army Staff Sergeant. Mr. Cruz worked as a Purchasing Agent for Hartz Mountain Inc., in Harrison, NJ for many years. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife Virginia (nee Rodriguez) Cruz; daughter Vicky Cruz; and son Raymond Cruz and his wife Annie Cruz. Raymond is also survived by sister Betty Soto, brothers: Luis and Edwin Cruz and 2 granddaughters. Funeral mass will follow at 12noon Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta, NJ 07871. Sparta, NJ. Interment will be held at 9:30am Friday at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
