Bruce Edward Valentine

Bruce E. Valentine, 75, of Franklin passed away on November 3, 2018. He was born in Paterson, NJ and was a long time resident of Pequannock, NJ before residing in Franklin. Bruce graduated from Pequannock High School in 1961 and served in the US Navy from 1962 - 1966. Bruce was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta and an elder of the Presbyterian Church in Franklin. He was the founder and sole proprietor at Valley Paint and Supply in Vernon from 1977 - 2002. He enjoyed volunteering for the Veterans at Bristol Glen Assisted Living and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia (nee Brown) Valentine of 52 years, his son Scott Valentine and his wife Michelle, and his daughter Susan Bysshe and her husband Geoff. Bruce is also survived by his loving grandchildren Darius, Vanessa, and Marissa Valentine and Marguerite and Henry Bysshe. He also leaves behind his brother Dr. Craig Valentine and his wife Beverly, his sister in law Carolyn, brother in law Gary Bunje and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted under Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, 32 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Bruce’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta Veteran's Ministry.
