Dear Barbara and Family: 
    I just got the shocking news about Kerry. I had wondered what happened to you - where you had gone. Please accept my deepest condolences. I was Kerry’s intramural assistant my first year at Molloy, and was intramurals director until I retired (not exactly voluntarily) in2010. I share your sorrow; we were friends for 40 years.

22 years ago I was a Molloy student struggling with the college application process, when one day Mr. Hughes (with his insight into my activities and interests), recommended that I try applying to Boston College.
I took his advice. I went to BC, found my lifelong best friends, and also met my future wife there. We now live in a wonderful house with 3 beautiful children and I could not be happier.
I often wonder how that piece of guidance from Mr. Hughes changed my life forever. I can only assume hundreds of other Molloy alums have a similar story. 
Mr. Hughes will be missed, but the work he did and care he showed for his students will reverberate for a long long time to come. 

Mr. Hughes helped me greatly with his guidance in 1973 at Molloy.... he was a friend and very supportive when I needed it...he had such a gentle spirit about him and I always felt better after speaking with him...a demonstration of a true fellow...he and his family are in my prayers...

I'd like to express my sincere condolences to Kerry's family and loved ones.  I knew Kerry as a teacher and as part of the Peer Group Counseling program at Archbishop Molloy High School.  He had a tremendous positive impact on me and truly embodied our school motto - "we do not learn for school, but for life."  He was a great teacher and a great person.  I'm so grateful to have known him and will always think of him fondly.  May he Rest In Peace.


Hughes Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of great sadness.  Kerry was one of my very first teachers as a Freshman at Archbishop Molloy HS in 1971, and then later as my Peer Group Counselling Faculty.  He was a great role model and always fun; his guidance invaluable as I faced my own adolescent challenges.  The work of his very successful life led to success in my life and many others, I'm sure!  

Mr Hughes was my driving instructor at Molloy. I had never driven a car before as my parents did not own one. He made sure to take me out after classes for some extra time to make sure I got enough road time. He was also my guidance counselor and helped get me out of my shell knowing how shy I was. He will be missed...a class act

My sincerest condolences to Mr. Hughes family. I had him for Non-West Cultures my freshman year 1970-71.  He was a fabulous teacher and very approachable, very well-liked. I can still remember that class, where I sat, etc-thats how much of an impression he made.
What a wonderful gift to the Stanner family his presence was over the years; my thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

Remembering your exuberance when teaching Social Studies and your excellence as a Driving Instructor...

I had a falling out with my brother but never stopped loving him.
I remember all the great times we had together planning cards, playing paddleball and spending weekends hanging out in Mom and Dad's backyard. Playing Jeopardy and Password and laughing all the time. I feel terrible that I did not get a chance to visit with him before he passed away. I was able o do that with our other brother Tommy.
My deepest condolences to Shannon and Kelly. I miss both of you.
