Rick was born in Wisconsin and joined the military shortly after graduating high school. After over 20 years of service in the United States Army he retired and began attending Army Defense Ammunition Center and School in Savanna, Illinois. After graduation, he began his career at Sunny Point Military Ocean Terminal until retirement in April 2003 as a Quality Assurance Inspector.
Survivors include his wife Jeanne Campbell; daughters, Connie Welding and husband Ralph and Christine Snavely and husband Steve; grandchildren, Conner, Cole, Devin, and Ethan; and his canine companion Tiger.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
