John Michael McNeil

John was born July 10, 1953, son of the late Earnest Jasper McNeil and Laurel Louise Gibson McNeil. He grew up in Greensboro and Snow Camp, North Carolina working on the farm. In his later years, he worked in textiles. John was a volunteer fireman for 15 years in Franklinville, North Carolina. He and his wife retired to Oak Island four years ago where he enjoyed fishing and walking on the beach.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Pam McNeil of the home; son, Michael Anthony McNeil and girlfriend, Chelsy Duncan of the home; and his faithful companion “Smokie”

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Oak Island with Reverend Charlie Carter officiating. The family will receive friends at their home.

An additional service will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00am at Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, North Carolina with Pastor Gary Mason officiating. Family will receive friends following this service at the church.
