John Christopher Benedict

John was born April 1, 1969 in Burlington, Vermont, son of Bob and Anne Benedict. John grew up in Essex Junction, Vermont and moved with the family to Atlanta in 1983. He was a graduate of Walton High School and Georgia Southern University with a degree in Hotel / Motel Management. John worked with Hyatt Hotels for over 20 years, and was very passionate about his job. His given family and his chosen family was the center of his life. He was a generous, kind and thoughtful man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Yvonne and John Benedict and Theresa and Roger Germain. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his husband, Tad Mayo; a brother, Dan Benedict and wife Kara; two nieces, Anna Grace Benedict and Keaton Riley Benedict; two nephews, Delsin D’Angelo and Cody Corn; his mother-in-law, Janis Mayo; a sister-in-law, Angelia Mayo - Corn; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 16th for family and close friends in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
