Joel was born June 19, 1981 in Glen Falls, New York, son of Laura Carr Wilcox and the late Don Wilcox. He was a loving father, brother, and son who loved spending time with his sons. He was a pillar of the Southport community who always thought of others first and himself second. He will be missed by those who will carry his light in his absence.
In addition to his mother, Joel is survived by his two children, Dylan Jacob Wilcox and Julian Lennon Wilcox; and six brothers, Jason Wilcox, Jesse Wilcox, Jeremy Wilcox, Donnie Wilcox, Joshua Wilcox, and Timothy Wilcox.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will have visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
