Jimmy was born August 12, 1958 in Barberton, Ohio to the late James and Dorothy Montgomery. He was retired from ACME after working there for 37 years. Jim loved his family. He loved retelling stories of camping in Canada; how his father always made a chore out of the family cabin. He loved his mother's baked beans. He was proud to be from Barberton, Ohio. He swore nothing could beat White House Chicken. He was proud of his son Andy and the family he had built. Jim loved talking of the short stories that Andy could write; and bragged about his playing basketball. Jim's pride in the last 14 years has been in watching his youngest son Samuel. Jim loved seeing the wonder and magic in Sam. Jim was so very proud of the character in the young man Sam was becoming. Jim was fascinated with all Sam was wanting to do. Jim was always supportive. Jim was and still will be deeply loved by his family and numerous friends. God stopped the demons when He called him home; Jim didn't quit.
Survivors include his wife Melissa Montgomery; two sons, Samuel Montgomery and Andrew Montgomery and wife Melanie; two sisters Cathy Kemp and husband Jack and Marilyn Flaker and husband Jeff; seven grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Annie and her mother Debbie Montgomery; and a nephew Christopher Kemp.
A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Beach Road Baptist Church. The family will have visitation from 11:00 am until the service at noon at the church.
The family asks that you please do not send flowers and instead make memorial contributions to the family for Sam's future educational needs.
