Dorothy Misenheimer Russell, age 92, of Oak Island, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Dorothy was born September 9, 1930. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Southport. She and her husband, Murrell Russell were the previous owners of the Yaupon Pier.
She is survived by her three sons, Timothy Russell (Michele), Donnie Russell (Debbie), and Ronnie Russell (Peggy); four grandchildren, Tyler Russell (Jordan), Allison McKeown (Shane), Heather Russell, and Danny Russell (Danielle); four great-grandchildren, Saylor, Abbie, Kylee, and Addison and a sister, Ruth Cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murrell O. Russell; a granddaughter, Amy Russell; and three sisters, Lib, Mary, and Rachel.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Miss Dot's caretaker, Dawn West, and all the staff at Liberty Commons Rehabilitation Center.
