Mrs. Sloan was born April 12, 1946 in Danbury, Connecticut the daughter of Otto and Alice Rehmet. She returned to college at age 50 and graduated from UNC – Chapel Hill at age 53. Mrs. Sloan was an artist who enjoyed painting landscapes; she was very detail oriented with every detail having to be just right. Carol enjoyed traveling; she and her husband had traveled throughout Europe many times. Other passions included gardening, bike riding, and her love for animals including her two pugs and two cats.
Mrs. Sloan is survived by her husband of 44 years, Albert Sloan; and a daughter Tricia Harris and husband Anthony of Southport.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Ferguson officiating.
