Arthur J Morris

Mr. Morris was born August 11, 1937 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, son of the late Arthur D. Morris and Rachel Thomas Morris. He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. Mr. Morris worked for IBM for 37 years and worked in their Italy location for five years. He retired as Vice President in Program Development. Upon moving to Bald Head Island, Mr. Morris became active in the Bald Head Fire Department for 18 years and was a Bald Head Councilman for 12 years. He loved people, made many friends, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Carole S. Morris of Bald Head Island; sons, Thomas Morris and wife Diane of Carlsbad, California and Timothy Morris and wife Anne of Freehold, New Jersey; brother, James Morris and wife Kathleen of Brigantine, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Gwendolyn Morris, Patrick Morris, Benjamin Morris, Elizabeth Morris, and Rachel Morris; several nieces and nephews; and loving mother-in-law, Evelyn Lillian Rush.

A memorial service will be at 12noon Saturday, November 4, 2017 at The Village Chapel of Bald Head Island with Reverend Garret Albertson officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Friday, November 3, 2017 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport.
