Deacon Wayne F. Griffin

Deacon Wayne Francis Griffin, 71, of Southington passed away on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Brayton) Griffin for over 50 years.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1949 in Waterbury, the son of the late Charles and Francine (Lariviere) Griffin. He graduated from SHS in 1969 and received an Associate Degree in Religious Studies. Prior to his retirement, he was an Electrical Test Engineer for several combustion engineering companies.

Deacon Wayne was ordained on June 21, 1986 by Archbishop Whelan and was assigned to numerous parishes throughout the Hartford Archdiocese and was the Deacon at St. Aloysius Church.

In addition to his wife Dolores, he leaves his loving daughters Vicki Trzcinski of Southington and Jocelyn Trahan (Joseph) of Dunedin, FL; his cherished grandchildren Tyler Trzcinski and Connor Trzcinski both of Southington.

He also leaves his brothers Thomas Griffin (Ronda) of Cheyenne, WY and John Griffin of FL, his sister Margaret Ames of FL, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his identical twin brother Charles Griffin.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16th at 10:30 am St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St. Plantsville, CT. Calling hours will be Tuesday (TODAY) from 4-6 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be in the Deacon Circle at St. Thomas Cemetery. Due to the current pandemic masks and social distancing precautions are required. Walkthrough visitation is advised as seating is limited.
