SOUTHINGTON -- Rose Marie (D?Angelo) Palumbo, 88, of Maplewood Road, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, surrounded by her family after a short illness at The Summit in Plantsville. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Palumbo.
Born in Southington on Oct. 22, 1917, Mrs. Palumbo was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmella (Landretta) D?Angelo, and was a lifelong resident of Southington. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church, Southington.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Avitabile, of Southington; a son-in-law, Louis Avitabile; three grandchildren and their spouses, Claudia Licursi and her husband, Scott, of Plantsville, Karen Avitabile Davis and her husband, Gregory, of Plantsville, and Louis Avitabile and his wife, Roxanne, of Southington; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Joshua Licursi, of Plantsville; two brothers, Andrew D?Angelo, of Meriden, and Michael D?Angelo and his wife, Constance, of Plantsville; two sisters-in-law, Angela D?Angelo of Southington and Shirley D?Angelo of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Pasco D?Angelo and John D?Angelo, and two sisters, Mary Czarnecki and Alvita Reynolds.
The funeral will take place Saturday, at 9:15 a.m., from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
