He was born August 6, 1946 in Waterbury, the son of the late Anthony and Anne (Vensolvas) Taylor. He had been employed by New Departure of Bristol and served in the U.S. Navy and was a corpsman of the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed boating and hunting and had been a member of the New Departure Fish and Game Club. He coached in the Southington Girls softball League for many years and was an avid fan of UCONN women’s basketball.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, David W. Taylor and Amy Cooper and her husband Todd all of Southington, his grand daughters , Kaylee and Emily Cooper, a sister Dolores Zalewski of Bolton and two nephews and a niece.
A memorial Mass will be held Friday 11 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bread For Life, P.O.
