Maria Testa

Born in Alvignanello, Italy, Maria was the daughter of the late Leonida and Raffaela (Galietti) DiGiacomo. She was a long time employee of Light Metals Coloring Company and parishioner of St. Luke Parish. Maria loved spending time in her garden and cooking. The family spent every Sunday at her house enjoying her homemade pasta, bread, sauce and delicious treats. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and the joy of her life, her grandchildren Jessica and Michael.

Maria is survived by her son Mark Testa and his wife Diane, her granddaughter Jessica Tysoe and her husband Cory and grandson Michael Testa. She also leaves behind a brother Antonio and sister Angelina, both of Italy. She was preceded in death by her son Giuseppe, her brothers Giuseppe and Guido, and her two sisters Elena and Addolorata.

The family would like to especially thank her caregiver, Antoinette Cherident, who provided loving care and support for Maria through her final years.

A visitation for Maria will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Church 254 Burritt St, Plantsville, CT 06479. Burial will follow at Saint Thomas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband Michele.
