Donald Lawson

PROSPECT- Mr. Donald R. Lawson, 68, of Prospect, formerly of Naugatuck, entered into heaven on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Darla (DeLuca) Lawson.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on November 5, 1951, he was the son of Richard Lawson of Las Vegas, NV and the late Ruth (Burd) Lawson. He graduated from Lowell Technical Institute in 1973. He was a highly skilled project engineer working for General Datacom, Sikorsky Aircraft and at Pratt & Whitney where he worked on the F-35 plane engine. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, walking the coastline of New England with his wife, woodworking, model trains, golf and the financials.

Don was a great follower of Jesus Christ. He shared that faith with his wife and passed it onto his children. He was an active member of Cornerstone Church in Cheshire.

Besides his wife and father, Don leaves his son Stephen and his wife Shauna Lawson of Middlefield, a daughter Jennifer and her husband Brian Howard of Plantsville, five grandchildren, Abby, Matthew and Joshua Howard, Noah and Caleb Lawson and a brother Charles Lawson and his fiancée Gladys Pimentel of Falls Church, VA.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday evening at 7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. in Southington. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be private. Visit www.dellavecchiafh.com for online condolences and directions.
