Charles “Chuck” Hamlin Webster, 83, of Plantsville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Chuck was born on September 22, 1937, in Bristol, a son of the late Charles Bennett and Ruth (Hamlin) Webster. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Moss) Webster for 60 years.
Chuck was a working foreman at the Southington Water Department for 25 years, being the youngest to retire at age 45, he also was the owner of Webster Sharpening Service for 25 years. He served his community as a Volunteer Fireman for 10 years at Co. #2, in Plantsville and is an honorary member. He also served in the National Guard for several years.
He and his wife Elaine enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, and spending time with his family.
Chuck will be dearly missed by his family, his loving wife Elaine, sons Michael Charles Webster and his wife Laura of Wallingford, Martin Matthew Webster of Plantsville, and grandchildren Christina, Sean and Jacob (Taylor) Webster, and Courtney Hedges. He is also survived by half-siblings Peter, Lloyd and Kathy. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son Matthew Webster and daughter May Hedges.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 31st at 10:30 AM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9-10:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Plantsville Fire Department Company 2.
