Ann Katherine McGovern nee Goodwin, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023 in Southington,CT. She was born on December 30, 1923 in Worcester, MA, to George and Florence Goodwin. Ann was raised in Pelham Manor,NY, graduating from Pelham Memorial High School and The College of New Rochelle, She then worked at the Foundling Home in NYC as a Social Worker.
On February 5th, 1949 she married Donald Anthony McGovern. Together they had six children who they raised in Yorktown Heights, NY. After Don retired they moved to Buttonwoods R.I. She moved to The Orchards in Southington, CT after Don's passing, where she resided for the last 8 and a half years.
Ann was a woman of great faith and was very active in the Catholic Church throughout the years. She was a forty year member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her children Ellen, Donald, Ann, Joan, Gail and Stephen, 13 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date in St. Augustine Florida.
