She was a long time resident of Bryn Gweled Homesteads in Southampton, PA. Nancy was born on May 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, Alphonse Olick and Anna Olick. She graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia, PA. She continued her education, graduating from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in Nursing. Nancy went on to establish a career as a Registered Nurse, working primarily with geriatric residents in Southampton Estates, in Southampton, PA and Wood River Village in Bensalem, PA. Her nursing career lasted for more than 40 years.
Nancy was an avid gardener, feeder and lover of birds and deer. She enjoyed nature and spent many hours outside working in her garden and caring for her animals. She served on the Health & Welfare committee, providing health care and support to many in her community. Nancy also taught English to non-English speaking adults at the local library for many years.
Nancy was a Christ-follower. She was a longtime attendee at Memorial Baptist Church in Huntington Valley, PA and Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia. Nancy along with her husband, Don, took Scripture’s call to take care of the orphan seriously, as she and Don fostered several children in their lifetime.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Konopka, Sr; her mother, Anna Olick; her father, Alphonse Olick; and her foster daughter, Darlene Finch.
Nancy is survived by Mary Konopka (daughter), Luanne & Barry Hurt (daughter & son-in-law), Donald Konopka, Jr. (son), Christopher & Lisa Konopka (son & daughter-in-law). She had 7 grandchildren Barry Hurt, Jr (Paige), Jazmine Brooks (Graham), Jaiden Hurt, Elijah Konopka, Noah Konopka, Isaiah Konopka and Josiah Konopka.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia located at 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
