Keyes, Robert J. life-time resident of South Milwaukee, went on ahead of his family to make a place for them, just as he did in this green world on November 28, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband for 62 years of Dorothy (nee Ronnebaum). Loving father of Thomas (Barbara) Keyes, Patricia (Kenneth Thompson) Walsh, James (Joan) Keyes, Suzanne (Thomas DC) Stanton, Colleen Zawikowski, Jeffrey Keyes, Mary (Thomas Proost) Keyes, Richard (John Wagner) Keyes, and Nicholas (Mary Joan) Keyes. Proud grandpa of Daphne, Jeffrey, Joel, Andrew, Robert, Julia, Brendan, Benjamin, Allison, John-thomas, Emily, Evan, Heather, Amanda, Oona, India, Aidan, and Aislyn. Great-grandpa of Owen, Colton, Jasper, and Caellum. Dear brother of Constance Eglsaer, Eileen (Jack) Rogan, Frances (William MD) O'Leary, Christine Bolender, and Jean (Ronald) Leonard. Brother-in-law of Barbara Keyes. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert F. and Edith H. (nee Boggs), his brothers Phillip F. and William A., sons-in-law James E. Walsh, Michael G. Zawikowski, brothers-in-law Walter Eglsaer and Richard Bolander.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday December 1, at 12 NOON at Divine Mercy Catholic Church 800 Marquette Av., South Milwaukee. Rev. Patrick Keyes and Rev. Robert Betz Concelebrants. Interment Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Visitation Saturday, at the Funeral Home, from 9-11:30 AM with procession to Church for Mass. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of one's choice appreciated.
Bob spent much of his free time collecting what he discovered in his and Dorothy's travels. He was a skilled artist who often employed natural materials in his work, which delighted his family and friends. Bob was the former owner of Gray's Inc.
