East Dennis - Joseph V. O’Loughlin, age 92, of East Dennis, passed away at home, on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Joe was born in Somerville on 2/14/1929 and was the son of the late Michael and Susan O’Loughlin.
Joe grew up in Watertown, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, He went on to graduate from Boston College and was employed in the finance department at Westinghouse. In 1968, Joe founded his own General Contracting business, J. O’Loughlin, Inc., which, has grown into the family business it is today.
Joe is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Claire, and his brothers Francis and Walter O’Loughlin. He is survived by his brother Paul O’Loughlin, and also by his children, Michael O’Loughlin, Patricia O’Loughlin, Joseph O’Loughlin and his wife Jinx, Sean O’Loughlin and his wife Kelly, Judith Lonergan and her husband John, and Marybeth McKenzie and her husband Tom, as well as 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Joe, could always be found with his family, whether he was walking the trails of the Cape, skiing the mountains of New Hampshire, or at the helm of his sailboat TABU racing out of the Hyannis Yacht Club.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 16th at 11 am at Our Lady of The Cape Church, 468
Stony Brook Road, Brewster.
