Gary Charles Anderson, 40, of E. Falmouth, MA (formerly of Dennis, MA), died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 3rd. He was the son of Gary and Debra Anderson of Port Charlotte, FL (formerly of Dennis, MA); the brother of Kimberly and her husband, Chris Anderson of Charlton, MA; the proud uncle of Kaelen and Dylan Anderson; and a beloved grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many others, both living and deceased.
Gary was born in Stoughton, MA, but grew up on Cape Cod, where he graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 2000. He earned an associate degree in multimedia design from New England Institute of Technology. Most recently, he worked as a commercial sales manager of a local auto parts store.
Considered quiet and shy by many, he was also insightful, quirky, and glib – with a quick wit and subtle one-liners that only those lucky enough to know him would appreciate.
Gary viewed life through a different lens than most. He refused to color between the lines. He would toss the paint-by-number instructions, preferring his personal Van Gogh-like approach. In fact, painting was one of his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed creating abstract images that prompted an array of responses, based on each person’s unique interpretations. Several of his paintings were recently featured in a display at Gallery X in New Bedford, MA.
Gary leaves behind many family and friends who deeply loved him, as well as Dash, his beloved rescue dog.
We thank Gary for challenging us all to look differently at life - we are all better for that. He will be sorely missed.
Family and friends are invited to join Gary’s family during visiting hours at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, Route 134, South Dennis, MA, on Saturday, November 12, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. followed by a private memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Safe With Us Animal Rescue, 174 Providence Rd. #1003, Grafton, MA 01519 or a charity of your choice.
