On October 20, 2023 we all lost an angel when Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Larkowski passed away suddenly at her home. She was only 77 years old. Her family and friends are deeply saddened and shocked by her death.
Betty Ann is survived and missed by her loving husband Henry Larkowski, her son David Larkowski and his wife Lynn, her son Jeffery Larkowski and his partner Christin, and her grandchildren Taylor and her husband Dan, Jake, Cameron & Maxwell.
She is also forever remembered by her siblings Francis Lamirande, Peggy Lamirande, Karen Ducie and her husband Ed, and her in- laws, Bob and Lori Piquette, Lisa Larkowski, and Bobby and Natalie Larkowski.
Her memory lives on with her many nieces and nephews: Tina, Scott, Michael D., Brian, Sarah, Lynda, Eric, Michael L., Adam, Jamie, Stephanie, Matt, Steven, Craig, Katy, and Jennifer whom she loved dearly.
And many great nieces and nephews: Lauren Elizabeth, Nicholas, Michael, Sydney, Brian Jr., James, Althea Grace, Rene, August, Erin, Patrick, Alivia and Aiden, Conner, Madison, Finnegan, Stefania, Victoria, Billy and Emma; as well as a great-great grand nephew, James.
Betty Ann is predeceased in death by her mother Adele Lamirande, her father Francis Lamirande, her brother Marty Lamirande, and her niece and nephew Althea and Benjamin Fortier.
Betty Ann was born at Holyoke Hospital in 1946. She grew up in Holyoke, attending Holyoke Catholic High School, married her husband Henry of 58 years, and raised their family in South Hadley, then building their home and moving to the Cape in 1980.
Betty Ann has loved being the deli manager at Peterson’s Market for more than 25 years. Every customer was her friend and no one left without one of her famous hugs.
Betty Ann always lived life to the fullest. In recent years her and Henry had many exciting travels, such as Ireland, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal with their lifelong friends Karen and Harry Chapdelaine and Karen and William Arbor.
She was always listening to music, loved ice cream, and as an avid golfer, she could be found on the course whenever she got the chance…she never missed her Tuesday “Ladies League”.
Betty Ann’s love was infectious and one of her hugs never failed to brighten your day. She was one of the most giving people, always asking “How can I help?” or “What can I do?”. Her family was the light of her life, always making sure everyone felt loved and connected. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people and will truly be missed and will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of her Life, which will be held on Thursday, October 26 from 3-7 p.m. at The Highlands Golf Course in Dennis, a place Betty Ann loved spending time with her beloved friends.
In honor of Betty Ann, hug someone today; she would love that!
