Stephen Policarpo, age 56, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 12, 2012 at St Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side.
A lifelong New Bedford resident, Stephen was the son of Tobias and Rose (Costa-Roia) Policarpo and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford.
Mr. Policarpo was a graduate of New Bedford High School and worked as a supply sergeant for the Army National Guard. He served over 30 years in the Army National Guard and was a veteran of the Iraq War.
Survivors include his daughter Brandi Lee Policarpo Luf and her husband James of New Bedford; a sister Sofie DeMello of New Bedford; a grand-daughter Briana Devon Policarpo of Tampa, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Corey Robert Policarpo.
His funeral will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 7:45 AM at the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 8:45 AM at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Rivet Street, New Bedford.
