Donald F. Morris, 84, of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Brandon Woods Nursing Home. Born in North Dighton, he was the son of the late John and Isabel (Netto) Morris.
Donald proudly served in the United States Navy and began his civil service career as a postal worker for the village of Hyannis. He worked as an EMT and Dispatcher for over 25 years including serving the City of New Bedford for 12 years and the towns of Yarmouth and Rochester. He was a devout Catholic and extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Lector at St. Julie’s Billiart Church. Donald was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and met Mother Theresa when she visited New Bedford. Spending time with his family was very important, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving children, Adam Morris of Providence, RI, and Samantha Morris, her fiancé Richard Pena and his daughter Juliana of Wynantskill, NY; his sister, Betty (Morris) Rose of Raynham, beloved niece Lisa Rose and nephew Charlie Rose and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Morris, Robert Morris, and Mary (Morris) Moniz. He was the uncle to the late Charlene (Rose) Wilkins.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02747. Burial in Rural Cemetery.
