Yvonne Eleanora Poublon Thomas was born March 23, 1927, at home near Marshall, Minnesota and passed peacefully on May 5, 2023, at age 96. During her early years her family moved many times back and forth across the country finally settling in Monroe when her dad became manager of the new flax plant. She entered Monroe High School in her sophomore year where she met her future husband Vernon "Bud" Thomas. She graduated with the class of 1945 and lead the parades as their majorette while also working at the Monroe Bakery. She then moved to Seattle to work as a bookkeeper for Alpine Dairy. After Vernon returned from WWII they were married and moved from Wagner to Park Place where they raised their four daughters Pamela, Jude, Cathe, Janie and son Michael. They were also known for raising great raspberries on their berry farm. After her children. were raised she went to work at the Lake Stevens Red Barn and later retired as Manager of the Monroe Hallmark Store. She spent her last quarter century living at her house near the lake, enjoying her view and wildlife around the lake.
Besides her children she is survived by her four sons-in-laws, Ron, Tom, Mark and Mike, five grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott), Tom (Tina), Steven, Halie, and Alex, two great grandchildren Keaton and Cooper and her brother Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Kimberley, sisters Leona, Evelyn, and brothers Fred, and Robert.
She was an awesome mother and a blessing to all who were fortunate to know her. Graveside services will be held at GAR cemetery in Snohomish, on May 16, 2023, at 1:00.
