Cindy was born in Fremont, Nebraska. She and her family moved to Lebanon, Oregon in 1956, where she graduated from Lebanon Union High School in 1966.
After high school, Cindy moved to Tacoma, Washington to attend Pacific Lutheran University, graduating in 1970. After graduation, Cindy’s first full-time job was teaching art in a Junior High in Moses Lake, Washington, before later moving back to Seattle.
In June of 1973 she married Stan Tarr, becoming a homemaker and mother for about 10 years.
Cindy had a varied professional career. In 1986 she resumed teaching as a substitute teacher in the Kent School district. After that she worked for Princeton Publishing as a Graphic Designer, before landing at Boeing as a Computer Systems Analyst. She retired from Boeing in 2011 after 14 years.
Cindy enjoyed all things artistic, from painting at home to attending the Seattle symphony. She loved camping and traveling with her husband Stan, and family and friends; as well as going on many cruises to see the world. Some of her hobbies included reading, baking, and spending time with her family. Cindy loved the Lord and she enjoyed being involved with and spending time in her church.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Stan of Lake Stevens; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Flemmer of Greer, SC, and Amanda and Zac Cavassa of Woodinville, WA; brother, Wayne Hartmann of Fremont, NE; sister, Brenda Duran and her husband Robert of Tulsa, OK; sisters- and brothers-in-law Karen Chocola of Seattle, WA and Steve and Dee Tarr of Langley, WA; four grandchildren: Nathan Click, Sophia Flemmer, Elaina Flemmer and Caleb Cavassa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 11AM at Snohomish Community Church, 13622 Dubuque Rd., Snohomish, WA 98290. Visitation will be held at 10AM at the church. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, December 13th at 11:15 AM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
