Sheila Wright Ross

Sheila Ross, 80, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away on September 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. She was born on October 5, 1943, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Wilkes and Mildred Wright. Sheila was a devoted wife to her husband, Jesse (Phil) Ross, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of love and cherished memories.

Sheila was a proud and loving mother to Jeffrey (Charlotte) Ross of Canton, Georgia and Kristi (Lance) Luegers of Milton, Georgia, and a dedicated grandmother to her five grandchildren — Kelsie, Bethany, Haley, Lauren, and Alex plus three great grandchildren — Brayden, Hunter and Brooks, whom she adored.

Sheila had a long and distinguished career as an analyst with the U.S. Treasury Department, where she worked with dedication and integrity. Known for her warmth, compassion, and strength, she was a guiding light to her family and friends.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Sheila. She loved to travel, read, cross stitch, exercise, spending time with her family and friends and was very active as a volunteer in her community. Sheila helped with the census in her area, at polling stations at national and local elections in her county and was a volunteer for over ten years at Our House which was an organization that helped NICU babies born to drug dependent mothers. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Sheila will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039. An interment will occur Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039.
