Mary was born on April 5, 1924. Mary was one of 9 children born to Mason Clinton and Frances Higginbotham.
She was an avid gardener, garage sale enthusiast, bird watcher, and devout follower in Christ. She was the matriarch of a large family, which she led with tremendous love, grace, and strength. Mary’s legacy is great, as she impacted the lives of everyone lucky enough to be blessed by her companionship.
Mary lived in Stone Mountain for more than 50 years. She was an active member of Mt Carmel Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. McCord, and daughter, Lynn McCord. She is survived by three of her children, Clint Segrest, Scott (Debbie) Segrest, and Beth (Bernie) Boone. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Jennifer (Charlie) Price, Josh (Melissa) Boone, Emily (Lee) Tucker, and Allison Segrest; and five great-grandchildren, Charles and Kathryn Price, Walker and Aden Boone, and Abigail Kate Tucker.
