Betty, who was born in Missouri, was an avid gardener, with a special love for Hostas and companion plants. She was active with the Atlanta Hosta Society, where she displayed and received numerous Cut-Leaf Hosta awards. She was also a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. Other interests included feeding the birds, rock picking, antiquing and collecting Aladdin lamps. She also volunteered at Pride Rings In Stone Mountain (PRISM).
In her twenties, Betty was a department store model. She and her husband, Marvin, were married for 61 years, and 30 years were spent as an Air Force spouse.
Her professional career included work at Coopers & Lybrand (Anchorage, AK and Atlanta, GA), Houston CPA and Dekalb County Finance Department and Commissioners Office.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Weed, daughter Patricia Panizo and grandson Aaron Novakovich. Betty is survived by her daughters Sheryl Weed and Debra Novakovich, son Thad (Robin) Weed, grandchildren Mindy Gustin (son Douglas), Ashley (George) Kendall (children Cora, Campbell and George), Jeremy (Erin) Novakovich, Heather Panizo (son Marcel Anthony) and Justin Panizo.

Due to COVID/19, a private family memorial interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, Georgia.
