Peter Alan Jewell

He was born January 16, 1947 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Lee F. Jewell and Velma (Corson) Jewell.

Graduating in the class of 1966 from the Skowhegan High School this past year he attended his 50th class reunion.

Peter served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict receiving three purple hearts, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star.

He was a self-employed livestock dealer.

He was a member of the VFW Post, a past member of the American Legion both in Skowhegan and a member of the United Bikers of Maine. Peter enjoyed wheeling and dealing, and loved going to auctions of all types. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles; he enjoyed playing cards, every Friday with friends and family.

Peter is survived by his wife, Brenda Jewell of Smithfield; he leaves three children, Josie Inman and husband Verne of Fort Sill, OK, Nicole Washburn and husband Scott of Skowhegan, , Jered Crowell and companion Kim Dionne of Dresden; two step-children, Jonathan Reynolds and companion Lorelei Looker of Bar Harbor, Sylvia Paradis-Reynolds and fiancé Eagen Nadeau of Hampton, VA; two brothers, Lee Jewell Jr. and wife Paula of FL, Wayne Jewell and companion Glenice Woodman of Skowhegan; one sister Sandra Ammons and husband Lemar of TX; three special grandchildren, Brooke Inman, Braeden Inman, Bayler Inman all of Ft. Sill, OK, and many other grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, Tracey Rotondi and husband Charles of Athens, Brittany Woodman of Skowhegan. As well as very close friends who will miss him dearly.

Viewing Hours will be held on Saturday December 3, 2016 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A committal service will be held on Saturday December 3, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan, Maine.
