SKOWHEGAN-Eric S. Quirion, 46, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2014 at Maine Medical Center in Portland surrounded by his family, friends and very special care givers. Born on May 21, 1967, in Waterville, the son of Felix L. Quirion and Fleurianne E. (Bolduc) Quirion.
After attending Skowhegan Area High Schoo he worked as a carpenter for Hights until 1991. He enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors motorcycling, snowmobiling, fishing, and hunting. He was a big New England sports fan. He was a great inspiration to his family and friends and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Eric is survived by his father Felix L. Quirion and his companion Francine Berry of Madison, his mother Fleurianne E. Quirion, of Waterville, his son, Joseph Quirion of Skowhegan, his ten brothers and sisters, Sylvie Quirion and her companion Larry Sanborn of Alfred, Pierre Quirion and his companion Mary McCarty of Skowhegan, Micheline Quirion and her companion Rex Lagle of Somersworth, N.H., Roger Quirion of Skowhegan, Mark Quirion and his wife Kelly of Skowhegan, Richard Quirion and his companion Cathy Meader of Skowhegan, Marie Quirion and her fiancee William Harding of Winslow, Bruce Quirion and his wife Diane of Norridgewock, Christine Longley of Skowhegan, Anthony Quirion and his companion Anna Mabie of Skowhegan, his many nieces and nephews, Jenny Jo, Andre, Andrea, Nicolle, Rex, Luke, Andrew, Jesse, Jimmy, Daniel, Chante, Renee, Tyler, Malcolm, Jacob, Ryan, Matthew, great nieces and nephews, Alivia, Reese, Cole, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his best friend Robert Vigue and his wife Michelle of Athens. Special thanks to Tom and Paige Greene for always watching over Eric and his home. The Quirion family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to all of his caregivers for the wonderful care they gave to Eric over the years.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church on Water St. with Father John Mazzei officiating. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan at a later date in the spring.
